| About us Starting from the new academic year, we are proud to launch our Singapore campus as an official international representative of the First Moscow Gymnasium – one of Russia's oldest and most respected private schools. We offer families complete flexibility: pupils can attend full-time, combining the Russian FSES (Federal State Educational Standard) curriculum with their local studies, or study entirely remotely via our bespoke online learning platform. For those joining us in person, we provide a purpose-built campus with full boarding facilities. We also offer external study and home-schooling programmes with formal enrolment. We know that choosing a school abroad is a big decision. Here are the most common questions we hear from Russian-speaking families living overseas
- Q:Can my child obtain the Russian leaving certificate through your school?A:Yes, absolutely. Our gymnasium holds official accreditation from the Russian Federation. We conduct formal interim assessments for every year group and, upon successful completion of the State Final Assessment (GIA / OGE and Unified State Exam) at official overseas examination centres, we award the Russian state-issued leaving certificate in full.
- Q:How does the interim assessment work?A:It depends on your chosen study format.
For distance learners: students are given access to our certified online platform with full learning materials. Assessments take place remotely, once a year – typically at the end of summer. You can choose the order in which subjects are taken, and your child can practise before each test. We record the best result from two attempts, and that mark goes on their official transcript.
For on-site students: assessments are conducted in person, following the standard academic calendar at the campus, as part of their regular school schedule. - Q:How do students who do not live in Russia take their final GIA (OGE, Unified State Exam) examinations?A:We provide thorough preparation for the State Final Assessment. Each year, the Russian education authority (Rosobrnadzor) publishes a list of official examination centres worldwide (across approximately 60 countries). You choose the centre that is most convenient for you, and we guide you through the registration process. Your child then sits the exams at the selected centre on the scheduled dates. Once completed, we submit the results to the official state database (FIS FRDO) and issue the Russian state leaving certificate.
For entry to international universities, students generally need to take Russian Language and Mathematics. For Russian universities, additional specialist subjects may be required depending on the chosen course. - Q:How do the final oral interview (Grade 9) and the final essay (Grade 11) work as prerequisites for the GIA?A:We take care of the legal arrangements. Upon your application, we organise both assessments remotely – the oral interview for Grade 9 and the final essay for Grade 11. The process is fully compliant with Russian regulations and includes secure identity verification, plus audio and video recording, so everything is properly documented and officially recognised.
